The Little Gem is the Majacraft folding wheel designed for using while travelling. It is especially useful for those who need to transport their spinning wheel, but has the smoothness and capacity to cater for all types of spinning.

At the beginning of 2020, Majacraft refined the design of the Little Gem to make it better than ever! Changes cover quality of life improvements like the stem lock nut on the front of the wheel instead of the side for easy access, to aesthetic improvements such as the new pedal shape, and functional improvements in the stem brace and crank arrangement to give a more rigid and positive spinning experience.

The Little Gem comes with three bobbins and a custom made shoulder bag in Majacraft green. We also include a Travel Kate so plying is a breeze while you are out and about.

The Little Gem is very suitable for use on vacation or away from home as it can be folded flat and transported in the special carry bag made for this wheel. The bag has an easy to use carry handle as well as a shoulder strap.

While the Little Gem is both compact and light (approximately 5kg/12lbs – this can vary with the wood), it easily handles spinning and plying any kind of fibre, wool, mohair, silk and so on. The Little Gem is a full height wheel with attractive and unique design.

The Rose is a classic wheel for every spinner. With its spoked wheel and engraved rose motif, it is elegant with a traditional feel. It is super-easy to use and yet still has the ability to carry out any spinning technique you can imagine.

The Rose has lines that are beautifully smooth and elegant. The motif has been redesigned by Tauranga artist Sharon O’Callaghan and the whole wheel has a very romantic feel to it. It is easy to use and very reliable. The Majacraft Rose is a wheel you will treasure for years to come.

The Rose bobbin and pulley carrier also has a laser engraved Rose motif that spinners can store up to three bobbins on while not in use.

Designed from the ground up, the Aura has modern style and presence while still retaining the classic Majacraft look. It has two independent drive bands, one for the flyer and a second for the bobbin. The flyer drive has three different ratios and the bobbin drive has two ratios plus infinite adjustment. This design allows the spinner to have very precise control over the draw of the yarn on to the bobbin.

The hybrid flyer is all new and builds on the advances Majacraft has made in the past. It shares the aerodynamic shape of other Majacraft flyers for efficient and easy spinning. Most importantly it has a new dual function orifice. Fine yarns can be held still in the delta part of the orifice. This also has the function of holding coil yarns very still so you can observe your work. You can bypass the delta and use the large halo ring for spinning huge. With the new double drive, the Aura can spin anything that can be pulled through this orifice!

The new folding handle design has the grip in a new location and special bumpers on the handle to keep the spinning head away from the pedals when you fold it down.

As with all other Majacraft wheels, it is as compatible as possible with all accessories. The Aura will fit all existing Majacraft flyers. It fits all wood bobbins produced after April 2010 and the latest standard and jumbo plastic bobbins. There are three jumbo wooden bobbins included with the Aura.

The Luna is designed to be both excellent to spin on and aesthetically beautiful. It has a very unique design and is crafted primarily in bamboo to create a look like no other. It has been developed over several years in collaboration with Suzy Brown and is now ready to be shared with the world.

Luna is a distinct design departure from other Majacraft wheels while still retaining the quality and functionality that spinners expect. Bamboo is both a unique look and the strength and stability it allowed in elements like the mount for the drive wheel and spine assembly. All the lines flow beautifully and the drive wheel can appear to be floating in air while embraced by the wrap around spine. The angle in the flyer shaft allows us to reduce the overall size of the wheel. Despite the apparent small size, all the spinning dimensions are the same as other Majacraft wheels. Same pedal angle and separation, same effective spinning height and yet all in a very compact package!

The Luna crank system is based on the Little Gem but has some new twists. Thanks to the reorientation of the drive wheel, the spinning experience is incredibly stable. The scotch tension is both very simple to use and common to Majacraft wheels.

The wheel comes with four standard black bobbins and uses a round orifice fine flyer.

To aid in smooth and effortless spinning, the Suzie Professional has a heavier painted drive wheel and pulley. An extra high speed pulley is included, making spinning fine and lace weight yarns easier and far more efficient. The wheel also comes with a delta flyer and Majacraft’s premiere ‘e-flyer’, a round orifice flyer with ceramic inserts in the orifice, guides and flyer hook.

The beautiful New Zealand Rimu complements the painted wheel and results in a wheel that is both a delight to look and wonderful to spin on.
