Turkish Spindle

The Majacraft Turkish Spindle Set is a combination of simplicity, functionality and beauty. The revised set now includes four different Turkish spindles made from 6mm bamboo ply. They are weighted at 10g, 15g, 20g and 30g (0.3oz, 0.5oz, 0.7oz and 1oz) – actual finished spindles may vary slightly in weight.

The spindle arms have cut outs near the centre of rotation so that they have as much rotational inertia as possible.

Spindles are an easy way into spinning and because Turkish spindles collapse down flat, this is a set that you can take anywhere. The 10g and 15g spindles are perfectly suited for very fine yarns while the 20g and 30g spindles are great general purpose spindles.

Storage Bag for Rose, Suzie + Aura

A bag for easy protection and transportation of your Majacraft Rose, Aura or Suzie wheel. A flap in the top of the bag to allow access to the handle on the wheel for transporting it about. Using the wheel handle instead of straps places the wheel in a much more comfortable position to carry.

Universal Tensioned Lazy Kate

The Majacraft Universal tensioned lazy kate can fit any of our bobbin range (excluding the overdrive bobbins). The primary purpose is to allow the plying of yarns on jumbo bobbins which can be useful for art yarns. Of course it still accomodates the lace and standard sized bobbins as well. The folding feet let you store the lazy kate in a smaller space. A polymer bearing to control the friction on the tension knob. This allows for more consistent tension adjustment and better control of the tension on your bobbins.The Overdrive and Universal Lazy Kates are not compatible due to the different axle size.

Overdrive Tensioned Lazy Kate

The Overdrive tensioned lazy kate is the same size as the Unviersal lazy kate. However, it holds two of the huge Overdrive bobbins. Another unique feature of the Overdrive lazy kate is the use of sliding flyer hooks as yarn guides, this lets you position the guides in the optimum position for easy drawing of the yarn from the lazy kate. The folding feet let you store the lazy kate in a smaller space. A polymer bearing to control the friction on the tension knob. This allows for more consistent tension adjustment and better control of the tension on your bobbins.The Overdrive and Universal Lazy Kates are not compatible due to the different axle size.

Double Row Comb System

Double combs are great for finer fibres. They will help you to prepare a sliver that will give an excellent result when spinning worsted yarns. Colour and fibre blending is simple and effective. The resulting sliver is a joy to spin and, as is often the case, the time spent in preparation is taken from the time spent in spinning later.

Diz

This beautifully finished unbreakable polished brass diz has three hole sizes – 1.5mm, 3mm, for fine through to coarse wools, and a 5mm for colour blending. The diz acts as a former to make a constant thickness sliver from carded or combed wool, while aligning fibres longitudinally. An essential for worsted spinning, and since it aligns the fibre, can be used to revitalize an old fleece or to blend different wools.
