8ply Naturally Coloured Polwarth Yarn (DK)

This yarn is grown by a flock of white and naturally coloured direct descendants of the original Polwarth sheep established on our farm in the mid-1800s.
100% Polwarth wool of 23 micron over a 110mm staple. Not treated for superwash so it retains the natural characteristics of wool for warmth.
Undyed. The natural wool colours reflect the season of growth. Much like a wine - each year (or vintage if you like!) produces a different yarn - sometimes there are more darker fleeces and sometimes the fibre might be finer.
Our current range of colours and vintages are Cream (2025), Ash (2023), Manna Gum (2024) and Bandicoot (2025).
They complement the dyed Origins and Homestead Gardens range of solid dyed colours with classic style.
Hand-dyers will enjoy the Cream for vibrant colours, while the Manna Gum and Bandicoot will create rich over-dyed effects with depth and a subtle fleck.
The yarn consists of 4 worsted spun strands, offering smooth, easy to knit fibres.
Available in 100 gram balls (3.5oz) and skeins as well as 50 gram skeins.
