Polwarth Wool + Silk Tops
Natural coloured Polwarth wool blended with Mulberry silk.
Soft and long fibres approx. 22-24micron with good bulk - perfect for handspinning. It also adds texture to knitting and weaving and is beautiful to felt with ribbons of silk.
Approx 6cm – 10cm wide 90% Polwarth mixed with 10% Mulberry silk
Available in 100gram plait, 500gram hanks, or 1kg bump.
Undyed natural colours are White, Light Grey and Dark Grey. The wool grows on the ancestral lands of Polwarth at Tarndwarncoort, with some white wool from nearby Fairview Polwarth.
While the silk is imported, rest of the product is entirely Australian grown and manufactured. The farmer, the shearer, the scourer, the top-maker – all done in Victoria.
