A Spectators + Crafters Guide to Competitive Shearing + Woolhanding

 Audience: this is for woolcrafters, fashion enthusiasts, people interested in sustainability, general show-goers

 Before the action takes place in the competitive shearing and woolhandling, get the low down on

  • What type of sheep are they

  • what makes good shearing technique

  • how does the judging work

  • what are the best bits  of the fleece that the woolhandlers look for

  • what happens to the wool after the competition

  • what do I do with my new found interest in wool/sheep/shearing

An informal presentation from experienced shearers and handlers as well as their judges with the woolcrafter in mind to deepen their knowledge of these steps in the cycle of wool.
