Start from scratch in learning to spin wool.
Unlock the magic to turning raw fleece or prepared tops into plied yarn ready for your next craft project.
Bring your own wheel (either foot powered or electric) or borrow one from Tarndie for the course.
The course will be held on the following Fridays in early 2026 from 10am to 1pm:
30 January - Understanding your wheel and finding your rhythm.
13 February - Refining your skills and exploring different fleece.
27 February - Trying different techniques and creating a balanced yarn.
With group sessions capped at 8 participants, this is the perfect, friendly and relaxing environment to come along and learn the basics to get you on a wheel and on the way to spinning up your dream fibre.
These sessions are on a series of 3 Fridays, allowing you sufficient time in between sessions to practice your skills at home before returning for the next lesson.
There will be the opportunity to try a number of different spinning wheel as well as different fibre types.
We also have video resources available to remind you of those little steps you may have overlooked when you return home to practice.
